The Club was founded in 1947 and has been in continuous existence since then.

We meet on Tuesday evenings from 7.30 onwards
at the Old Reindeer Inn in Parsons Street, Banbury.
We also run a juniors club which starts at 6.30 and runs until 7.30.

For those that like competitive chess,
in the coming season, we will be fielding 3 teams in the Leamington League,
the A team in division 1, the B team in division 3, and the C team in Division 4.

and we will also be fielding two teams in the Oxford League.
Banbury 1 in Division 1 and Banbury 2 in Division 4.
In addition we also enter teams in the Leamington League Knock Out Competitions
and in the Oxford League Competitions.

Whether you are a seasoned player, or a newcomer to chess,
you will be very welcome to join us.

Just come along on a Tuesday evening and see if you like us.
For matches we use the Globe room of the Reindeer,
but for friendly games and if the Globe room is not available we also use the bar area.
